Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Rebbe's Global Reach ("the Site," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with your use of this website. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Who we are

The Rebbe's Global Reach is an interactive historical atlas documenting the worldwide impact of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. The Site is operated by Chabad of Mid Suffolk, New York.

2. Information you provide to us

When you choose to interact with certain features, you may provide information directly:

  • Share an experience: when you submit an experience, we collect the name you provide, an optional email address, and the details of your submission (such as location, year, title, and description).
  • Feedback and corrections: when you send feedback or suggest a correction, we collect your message and any optional contact details you include.

You control what you submit. Please do not include sensitive personal information you would not want stored or, where applicable, displayed publicly.

3. Public display of submissions

Experiences you submit are intended for publication on the public map and may be reviewed and displayed to other visitors. Any email address or contact detail you provide is used only to contact you if needed and is not published on the map. Do not submit information through these forms that you do not want to appear publicly.

4. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, when you visit the Site our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically record standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device and operating system information, referring pages, and the dates and times of your requests. This information is used to operate, secure, and improve the Site.

5. Cookies and local storage

The Site uses only the cookies and local browser storage necessary for it to function properly (for example, to keep the map and its controls working, and to maintain administrator sessions for authorized staff). We do not use cookies to sell your personal information.

6. Third-party services

We rely on trusted third-party providers to operate the Site, and your information may be processed by them in the course of delivering the service:

  • Supabase — database and backend hosting for the Site's data.
  • Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, and security.
  • OpenStreetMap and CARTO — map tile imagery; these providers may receive your IP address in order to serve map tiles to your browser.

Each provider maintains its own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review them.

7. How we use information

We use the information described above to display submitted experiences on the map, respond to feedback and correction requests, operate and maintain the Site, protect against misuse and security threats, and improve the content and functionality of the Site.

8. Data retention

We retain submitted and automatically collected information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal obligations, and to maintain the historical record the Site is intended to preserve.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Your choices

If you would like to request the correction or removal of an experience or other information you submitted, please contact us using the details below, and we will make reasonable efforts to address your request.

11. Intellectual property and copyright
